Glebe Farm, Astbury
Astbury May Day is a cherished custom of our Astbury village community. Held each year, on the third Saturday in May (although due to Covid, this year it is in September!), The local school children take part in a procession, in costume, through the village into church. After a short service the parade continues to Glebe Farm field where the crowning of the new May Queen takes place. This is followed by traditional may pole and country dancing, stalls, rides and attractions.
The parade to the church will commence at 1.15pm. Once the short church service has finished, the band will lead the parade to Glebe Farm for the Fete at 2.30pm.
